Why Burgess
Vented & unvented cylinders done properly
An unvented cylinder takes water straight from the mains, so you get powerful showers and strong flow from every tap, even when two bathrooms are running. With no cold water tank in the loft, you get that space back too.
Unvented cylinders must be fitted and serviced by a qualified engineer. We assess how much hot water your household uses, size the cylinder properly and handle everything from design to annual safety checks.
What's the difference between vented and unvented?
A vented cylinder is fed by a tank in the loft and relies on gravity. An unvented one is fed directly from the mains, so pressure is much higher.
Does an unvented cylinder need servicing?
Yes. It needs a yearly check of its safety valves and expansion vessel by a qualified engineer.
Is it right for my home?
If you have two or more bathrooms and decent mains pressure, usually yes. We test your mains flow before recommending one.
